The World Trade Organization is an advocate for the push of green technology increase in exchange within the world. It the goal of the organization that, with the formation of completely open trade between all nations,we can globalize the economies of all countries and create a world society of wealth. The current state of our world right now however, is entirely dependent on the trade and maintenance of oil supplies.

As fossil fuels are continually being used, oil, coal, and natural gas reserves continue to shrink in size. This shrinkage is leading nations to pull out of their trade with nations in an effort to save resources for themselves. This backing out will lead other nations to pull out too, eventually stopping trade between the entire international community. This could lead to potential conflicts with between countries with nations enacting war in favor of negotiating peace.

The image clearly shows energy conservation and the removal of carbon products as the largest wedges needed to reduce carbon emissions over the coming years. With evidence showing that we are in danger of pollution from fossil fuels, I would push for wedge implementation to take place to reduce the carbon emissions made my member countries in the world. I would ask the member nations to enact the carbon wedge of transport conservation, limiting the amount of delivered goods by trucks in nations by 10% and instead transporting them by air in large carriers.
Our main plan of tackling the carbon emission issue is to I ask that nations limit the exportation of oil products 15% in five years in order to lower the amount of fossil fuels spread in the international community and to lead nations to gradually switch towards more green energies such as wind and solar technology. I would use the organization’s budget to promote training in the building of said green technologies in lesser developed nations and monitor both the developed and developing nations in their lowering of exported fossil fuels. By discouraging fossil fuel production, member nations would begin to trade more and more renewable energy resources, increasing the demand which would allow us to open up more trading in nations of need of alternative energy sources to fossil fuels.
Image 3. The image above shows the change in export amount and GDP growth over several years. When exportation hits a high, GDP also increases to a large amount. Note in the last several years the decrease in the exportation amount, a clear sign of the increasing demand for oil that the supply cannot meet. International companies would be advised to not increase the selling of their fossil fuels to member nations following this agreement. As a non-profit organization, I would hope that the developed nations would be the first to help donate to this planned policy, the resources and money they give going towards the technologies being given to developing nations. In turn, the developing nations would be asked to repay the developed countries at the 5 years end with the profits earned from the conservation of energy usage. As I see it, this is the best policy the World Trade Organization would push for the international community to adopt in the future. The World Trade Organization would not receive any profits made by this strategy and though the multi-national companies are not gaining direct profits either, they are benefiting by being encouraged to switch their production to a more needed resource in the coming years. The international community as whole will be expected to enforce these policies if enacted in the member nations, with the developed countries loaning out their money and resources to any nation in need, not just an ally. Hopefully, this policy will be passed in the forum by the member nations and that we can eventually see a decrease in pollution.
